This package has been deprecated because of issues with Verisign 
statically linking their code with an older version of OpenSSL.  You

It should be noted that this problem was only observed on Linux;  we 
don't know for sure what the module's status is on other OSs.  But
since most OACS folks run Linux, we felt it was better to pull this
module aside than to leave it in the release and lead people to think
it's still usable.

The decision to move the module was proposed in TIP 33 and approved;

It would be very helpful if anyone who tries this module out can post
to that TIP and indicate whether they got it working or not.  It's 
always possible that Verisign will decide to fix this at some point in
the future and then we could un-deprecate it.
